3D Printed Webbed Poker Chip
Do you like playing poker? Too busy to go out and buy the chips? Already own a 3D printer?
Great! That's exactly what we're aiming for! Plus the extra benefit of being quieter.
We wanted to create a quieter poker chip that made the game more intense and these chips are the result of that goal. The first being the "Webbed Chip" has a hexagonal pattern cut out in the middle to allow air to flow through it while using them. The second, the "Hollow Chip" is half of the actual finished product (you'd have to print two) with a quarter inside to make it denser.
With this guide, learn how to recreate our chips from the ground up, as long as you have some minor knowledge with 123D design.

These chips have been designed keeping the standard poker chip specifications in mind.
We've also attached the finished files if you would just like those instead.

Creating the Webbed Chip
Video Tutorial:
Use the pictures above and match the number to the step below.
Change to top view
1. Sketch a 50mm diameter circle.
Create a horizontal poly-line to align the hexagon with.
2. Use the polygon tool to create a hexagon that has a radius of 4mm.
3. Make a 1mm line from the center of the bottom side of the hexagon.
4. Make a horizontal line 2mm from the end of the 1mm line.
5. Select the hexagon sides using control and click, then use the mirror tool and mirror it over the 2mm line.
6. Select the sides of the newly created hexagon and then use the circular pattern tool. Select the first hexagon's center point as the center point. Then change the number of copies to 6.
Make a 1mm line from the center of the bottom side of the bottom hexagon.
Make a horizontal line, 2mm from the end of the 1mm line.
Select the hexagon sides using control and click, then use the mirror tool and mirror it over the 2mm line.
7. Select the sides of the newly created hexagon and then use the circular pattern tool. Select the first hexagon's center point as the center point. Then change the number of copies to 6.
Now make a 1mm line (120 degree) from the second side of the hexagon, count from a clockwise direction.
Then make a 2mm line (30 degrees) from the end of the newly created line.
8. Then use the mirror tool again to mirror the hexagon into the space.
9. Then use the circular pattern tool once more with 6 copies.
Make a 17mm circle in the middle.
10. And another 39mm circle in the middle.
11. Delete the lines used for mirroring.
12. Select all of the sketches except the inside hexagons using ctrl+click.
13. Then extrude it 6mm.
Creating the Hollow Chip
Video Tutorial:

1. Using the circle tool, create a 50mm circle.
Then create a 37mm circle.
2. And finally a 38mm circle.
3. Extrude the inner circle and the outer ring to 3mm.
4. Then extrude the middle ring to 2.5mm.

5. Draw a circle with a diameter of 12.718x2mm
6. Then extrude upwards 1.8mm.
Printing
Once you have the files modeled and finished, open File and hit export to stl.
Then open the stl file in your favorite slicing software and send it to print.
In our example we used makerbot desktop, located here:
Finishing Up
Once everything has been printed insert two quarters (one for each half of the hollow chips) and glue the two halves together.
Finally, everything is completed! Have a fun day playing poker!
