Step 1: Research the Meaning of My Name

/qing/ (simplified version is the

same as original version)

Structure of Chinese Character: Left-Right

Radical ( Simplified version):

Method of Creation: phonogram

It means sunny day with no clouds or few in the sky.

Step 2: Innovative Interpretation

Understanding from its formation, one can obviously find out that/qing/ is related to the sun.

/qing/ at the right side is where the pronounciation comes from.

The upper part stands for the grass, and the bottom stands for rocks.

When the sun shines on it, the grass grows on the rocks. However, from my perspective of view, a rainbow after the rain can better explain the meaning of . The nature revives itself in a warm sunshine after absorbing the essence of rain.

Step 3: Design

I built up the sun, rocks and grass with plasticine, and frame it within one background. But after turning it from 2D print to 3D clay, I want to do something new in 3D model, I want it to be a broad without the limitation of a frame. I refered to some Chinese land scape pictures, and found out that terraces were very attractive and perfectly fit the shape of character

Step4: 3D Modeling

In order to show a scene after the rain, I built up a rainbow on the top, and the sun hangs there to show a beautiful world when the sun starts to shine after raining.
