Paper quilling designs are beautiful and fun to create.

When I first started working on this project, I had a totally different image in my head of what the outcome would be, but in the end it turned out to be a basket of 3D flowers. My true self actually love 3D quilling.
In this instructable, I'm going to show you the making process of this beautiful flower basket embellishment to decor your sweet home. Let's start....

Supplies

To begin, some basic supplies that I suggest having for your quilling are:

  • Slotted tool
  • Fine tipped tweezers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored quilling paper strips (1.5 mm)
  • Mount board 8''x 10''
  • Wire
  • Plastic deli container
  • Ribbons
  • Pliers
  • Green masking tape
  • Hot glue gun

Making Petals

Take strips and start rolling them all into coils. Make five coils for five petals. Then we give them a diamond shape, a little biased. Now all the petals generously pour glue PVA-K, and give dry well. Take a petal and a petal bent it nearly in half like given picture. Do same on all of them and stick them together. Let them dry well.

For stamens take paper width up to 2 cm, and yellow paper strip (4 mm). Glue yellow strips on both sides.
curve the fringe using a scissors blade. Then attach a narrow green tape strip (3 mm or 1/8 inch) to its end.

Take a piece of wire 5'' long. Twist green masking tape in one end and make a lope with pliers like picture. Now twist the fringed strip on it.
Take a green strip and make a tight coil. Here I used a mini mold to push the coil gently to form a dome shape. You can use you fingers as well. Coat the inside with glue.

Now put the petals & dome shaped coil one by one through the wire. Wrap the wire by green tape, it'll make flower stem.

Making Buds

To start making buds, I rolled 10″ of light pink quilling paper strip into a tight coil, and glued the end. I used the round end of a pan to push the center out until I see the cone-like shape that I want.

To keep the shape secure, apply a small amount of glue all around the inside of the cone and brush to spread the glue. When it is dry, the shape will hold.

To create the other side of the flower bud, I rolled 16″ of light quilling paper into a tight coil, push into a dome, glue and dry. Then put it on through a wire and make a lope to secure it.

I attached the two halves of each flower bud, by adding a thin line of glue to the inside of the dome, and placing cone-like part on the end. Now again wrap the wire by green tape to make stem.

Make Many Flowers & Buds of Different Colors. Attach Them Together by Green Tape.

Lay out two pieces of green masking tape about 7 inches long, sticky side facing up. Place a piece of wire in the center of one piece.
Put sticky sides together with wire sandwiched in the middle. Cut a leaf shape.
Make as many as you needed.
