3D Print Replacement Gear for Sega Power Drift

I purchased Sega Power Drift arcade machine with a broken brake pedal. The pedal was missing metal gear 601-5410 which I was able to find on EBay. Gear POW-2610 was stripped out and I was able to draft the part, and 3D print it. I also redesigned the part that if the teeth on the 3D printed part failed it was easy to swap a new set of teeth out without disassembling the whole assembly.

I drafted a new part in Autodesk Inventor using a set of caliper to match the dimensions.

I first 3D printed the part on a Formlab’s Form 1 3D printer but the standard material is soft for gear use. You can see in the picture the clear Form 1 part showing a match to the original part. I later printed the parts on a Lulzbot Mini in ABS to be more durable.

I had to order a “5k POTENTIOMETER 1.25" SHAFT USED IN S NAMCO & SAMMMY USA” from www.twistedquarter.com to mount metal gear 601-5410 on. I had to resolder the wires, and the correct placement of the wires can be seen in the picture for the bake pedals potentiometer.Once everything is mounted correctly you need to reference the Power Drift manual for calibrating the brake pedal, and can be found at http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9099.
