A Little Student Study Area

I made a study space where I feel most people would be able to be productive as well as feel comfortable working at. How this relates to me is that right now I am currently a student in high school, and I really don't have a space where I feel comfortable or able to be productive for a long period of time to work. Considering this issue, I decided to make a space that is comfortable to work at.

I believe my small space can make a huge impact for those which don't have a place where they feel they can work at without any worry. My small space will be able to help people to be more proactive and focused in any sort of work for all ages. My space will be able to provide all the necessary space to store work if needed, as well as have a little rest area where they can look out the window at the flowers or take out a book from the shelf.

How I use my imagination to create my space was I thought about what would make me work in a space whenever I would want to work at for a long period of time. I first thought of the desk and the surrounding area of it where the main area of the work would be. Then I thought about a little rest area in the space where I can be able to relax after or take a mini break from doing work, which would have a window with a nice view. Lastly, I thought about adding a bookshelf where any books relating to work or ones that can be read during a break could be in the space as well to put any personal items for show.

First I started to design my small space in Fusion 360 by first creating the base of a rectangle and deciding to have the walls to make a small space where it looks connected to a bigger household. After designing the structure, I started to focus on what I was going to have outside the small space, which I chose to have a little flower bed with a window. Once I was finished on the outside, I started to work on the inside and started to design all the parts I wanted in my space for example a desk, bench, bookshelf, coathanger, mirror, and storage space for anything related to a work space.

Materials

I decided to think of materials I could use to build my real-life model. I needed easily accessible materials in my school. So in the end I decide to use cardboard, popsicle sticks, a 3D printer, etc. These materials were able to be easily accessed in my school.

Building Process

I first started off to build the base since it was going to support the rest of the build. I used a cutout rectangle of cardboard and decided to color the fur as grass for the bottom surface and hot glue it on top of the cardboard. After I used the remaining cardboard to build the walls surrounding the space, including the outside flower bed. Once I had the outline of the walls using pieces of cardboard and gluing them together. I then cut the bottom where the main part of my space was going to be and replaced it with a cardboard piece over it. I then started to print the flowers and tried to build the rest of the furniture of the small space out of popsicle sticks due to me running out of time to work on it and the printers were all being used.
