A Lovely Warm Skull Face Snood.
I love snoods; they are so warm and versatile, especially for cycling or camping.
If you were born after the eighties you may not have encountered them; I will explain. . . It's a tube of fleece fabric that can be a scarf, a hat. a kerchief or a hood or hijab.

I theorised that if I cut two eyes holes in and sew on a face then it also becomes a friendly ski mask.
Any face will do but I have chosen to use my Instructables' logo for this snood, ( the badly drawn skull face.)
This is only the second thing that I have ever made with a sewing machine so I guess that it can be classed as easy, which makes it a perfect project for a beginner, like me.

The Materials and Tools.
Fleece fabric; these were old fleeces from Ikea that did not suffer from a little being trimmed off them.
A slide clip; from a pair of old trousers; these were too annoying on the trousers but I put them aside knowing that one day they would shine.
A shoelace.
A sewing machine or Needle and thread.
Scissors.

The Skull.
Draw your skull face on paper and cut it out.
If you are happy with the result then trace around it onto the white fleece and cut it out.

Let the Sewing Commence + Enucleation.
Wrap the black fleece around your head to get an idea of the width; it has to be tight enough to comfortably grip your face.; the dimension I have given should work for most people.
Cut the black felt into a rectangle of the dimensions shown; Pin the Skull to the middle of the black fabric, ( do not pin too close to the edges or they will get in the way of the needle.)
I sewed around the eyes and nose ( I just turned the hand crank to do this; I don't think that my foot skills are up to it.)
It came out quite well.
Next , sew around the skull edges.
It is now time to remove the eyes with the scissors.
Cut the black felt into a rectangle of the dimensions shown; Pin the Skull to the middle of the black fabric, ( do not pin too close to the edges or they will get in the way of the needle.)

The Drawstring and Tube.
I sewed a hem for the shoelace drawstring along the top of the fabric.
I fitted the drawstring and fitted the slide clip.
I turned it inside out and simply sewed from top to bottom.

The End.
This feels toasty, especially when cycling at night and is perfect for a bad hair day.
