A Nice Little Gift!
This is a nice gift for a birthday or valentines day.
It is made with wax, so it requires heat, red hot knifes and molten crayon. CLICK HERE for more info.
This is the second time I am publishing the same instructable, the first time I tried it only published the first step, and 12 PEOPLE SAW THAT EMBARRASSING MISTAKE! IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE 12, PLEASE READ THIS TO THE END!
If you are not, read it anyway!
You Will Need:
A bunch of colorful wax crayons.
A tea light with the wick removed.
A long wax candle.
A stove or big flame.
Nail varnish.
Soldering flux or beeswax (OPTIONAL).
Glitter (OPTIONAL).
Knife.
Melting
Heat the knife over a big flame, and cut a squarish hole into the tea light.
Fill the hole with bits of white candle, crayon, and beeswax.
Melt the titbits into a liquid and let it cool.
When solid, turn it upside down and do the same with more titbits.
Then smother with white wax.
Cutting
Decide on what shape you want. I cut out a heart shape for my mom's birthday.
I used a heated knife to cut out a basic heart shape and then used a small candle flame to round the edges.
If it breaks, just weld it together with wax.
You could just leave it now, but it will be flimsy and scratched up.
Read on to find out how to solve this problem.
You Might Think I'm Crazy...
A small tub of soldering flux mixed with wax!
Melt the flux and place the sculpture in, then cover in wax.
Varnishing
Varnish is flammable. Once varnished you cannot use heat to modify, or it will burn up.
If you want sparkles, mix glitter with the nail varnish.
Gift It!
Have fun seeing the smile on the person-you-gifted-it-to's face!
