A Simple Hot(ish)sauce

Chil4.JPG

My 10 yo boy and I like food a bit spicy, but not too hot. So we made this simple hot(ish)sauce.

What We Used

We used:

3 Habanero peppers

3 Red bell peppers

3 Cloves of garlic

1 small (70g) tin of tomato puré

1 tsp of salt

1 tsp of sugar

100 ml of vinegar

What We Did

We cleaned the peppers from seeds and other unwanted bits, chopped them and put all the ingredients in a saucepan. Then we blended it until it was smooth. Lastly we boiled the puré for about 15 minutes.

Where We Put It

We scalded some bottles with boiling water and poured the hotsauce in them. We had a few more bottles than what is on the picture. We got about half a liter of sauce.

I have tested the hot(ish)sauce on different foods, and I think it is great. Next time I might add more spices and maybe grill the peppers over hot coals. Definitely not the last time I make hotsauce.
