A Netbook-bag for Less Then 20 €

BILD0664.JPG
It looks like there are only two kind of netbook bags available for my EeePC 1000H:
"Affordable but ugly as hell" or "Nice, but i don't want to buy the whole shop!"

So i decided to make a bag myself, based on a CD-bag from HAMA.

Gathering the Material

You need:
1 CD-bag, mine was from HAMA and costs 15 Euro
2 pieces of rubber, a lot of rubbers costs me 1 Euro
1 diner set for 1,99 Euro
2 snap hooks, 0,20 Euro each
A cutter, some needles with yarn, double-sided tape and 30 minutes

Remove the CD-pockets

First i removed the CD-pockets, they were sewed, so it took just a few seconds with the cutter.

Sew

Sew the rubber to hold the netbook, a.k.a. "Damm! Jim, i'm a geek, not a tailor!"

I sewed them this way, that they can hold the netbook while open AND closed.

Making the Pocket

For the upper half of the bag i decided to make a "multi-purpose-pocket" out of one diner set, so i cutted it and sewed it together.

Add the Pocket to the Bag

I just glued the pocket to the bag with doublesided tape, but you can use what you want ;-)

Hook the Belt

At last i cutted of the handle and added a belt with the snap hooks.

Additions

After field-testing i sewed the latches for the hooks together and "soldered" an nice hole in them.

I also sewed a little pocket for my mobile phone which works as WiFi-Hotspot when i'm outside and hooked it to the zipper with one of the snap hooks...
