Hello! I am a student currently attending high school and I made a realistic diorama of an abandoned kitchen because I felt like an abandoned room would be more fun to make and have more details than a regular kitchen. I love making dioramas and have made a lot of them, mostly of aesthetic bedrooms and but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone make something more different this time.

Supplies

I used supplies like paintbrushes, paint, cutting knifes, cardboard from around my house, recycled plastic from containers in the trash, a hot glue gun, watercolors, colored pencils and markers.

Making the Room Shape

For this step, I cut out two pieces of thick carboard from a box and painted them to resemble the texture of the wall and the floor. I also added plastic to the window and cut a hole in it to make it more realistic. lastly, I added dirt and grime to the floor, walls, and windows as a finishing touch.

Making the Cabinets and Counters

For step 2, I used more carboard I found in my house from delivery boxes and cut them into small parts to construct the kitchen counters, I also added an air conditioner to the top right corner and cut out pieces of the floor and glued them on to make it look like the floor was ripped up.

Finishing Touches

For this last step, I colored the cabinets of the kitchen and dirtied them up to make the paint look old and peeling, added a stovetop, and a floating island in the middle to fill up the space. lastly, I added the finishing touches. a miniature painting of starry night to hang crooked on the wall, a broken fish tank with all the water drained, wine, food containers, ripped up tablecloths on the table, and a dusty toaster to make it feel a little more realistic and detailed.
