Supplies

  • CO2 laser cutter (We used a Trotec Speedy 360 80W with a 2" lens)
  • Acrylic cutting grid table
  • 1 sheet of (1/16") Clear TroLase ADA Signage
  • 1 sheet of (1/16") Black TroLase ADA Signage with adhesive backing
  • Picture frame (i.e. RIBBA from Ikea)

Prepare Your Files and Process the Clear TroLase ADA Signage

Import the templates. If you decide to use a UV-printer for this application, we suggest isolating your flower outline and creating a separate file. This step will prevent the outline from unintentionally getting printed onto the transparent TroLase ADA Signage sheet.

We cut the TroLase ADA Signage to fit the picture frame in advance. We then used a UV-printer to print the colored design onto the back of the sheet of material.

Alternatively, you can print whole sheets of material with registration marks and cut it afterward using the JobControl Vision camera system!

Process the Black TroLase ADA Signage Sheet

Begin with the outline file, and send the job to the laser using the driver settings below.

Print Settings*

  • Process Mode: Standard
  • Resolution: 500 dpi
  • Cut Line: None
  • Halftone: Color
  • Others: Optimized geometries, inner geometries first

Note: Pay attention to the thickness of the flower lines. If they are too thin they can break easily!

Place the black TroLase ADA Signage sheet into the laser. To keep the material from moving while being processed, we recommend covering the remaining work area with material to strengthen the laser's vacuum.

Laser Parameters

  • Color: Red
  • Process: Cut CO2
  • Power (%): 38.00
  • Speed (%): 0.8
  • ppi/Hz: 1000 Hz
  • Passes: 1
  • Air Assist: On
  • Z-Offset: n/a
  • Direction: n/a
  • Advance: n/a

Our suggested parameters may vary depending on the laser machine used and the available laser power.
