These are the links to the video that shows how the stuff works. The controller is designed to allow people with cerebral palsy to use computers. The controller has three parts so that people with different types of cerebral palsy can use it. One of the components is for the head and the other 2 can be used for feet or hands. The controller is designed using relatively common materials to make it easier to replicate.
Supplies
- foam core
- alligator clip wires
- aluminum foil
- sharpie
- duct tape
- hot glue
- wires
- foam pipe insulator
- wire stripper
- makey makey
- xacto

- cut a 9 by 9 square from foam cord
- cut four 3 by 3 squares and put one in each corner of the larger square
- attach these with hot glue
- add a slight gap in between the squares as shown above
- cut a 17 1/2 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide rectangle
- cut two 7 inches long by 5 inches wide rectangles
- attach the two to the length side of the longer rectangle, ensuring they are sticking out as long as possible and use hot glue to connect them
- make 2 4 by 4 squares and connect them with hot glue against the length side of the smaller rectangles with their thin side touching the length side of the larger rectangle (inside the angle which is formed by bullet point 3)
- make 2 4 inches long by 2 inches wide rectangles and attach them with the length side parallel to the ground and attach to the squares with hot glue
- cut the cross section of the foam pipe insulator and then cut down one of the halves to make it 25 inches
- also if your structure is too shaky you should make small shapes and hot glue them to the places where you hot glued 2 of the shapes together to make them more stable
- cut a 12 inches by 9 inches piece of foam core
- cut four 2 by 2 squares
- cut one 7 by 3 rectangle
- cut one circle with a diameter of 4 inches
- attach the pieces together as shown above with hot glue
- attach pieces of tinfoil to the pieces from the previous step with hot glue as shown above
- use sharpie to show which button is which as shown above
- hot glue tinfoil to the creation from step 2 as shown above (do not sharpie on the input yet)
- take the 25 inch foam piece and connect it around the squares and use glue and duct tape to anchor it on the two 7 by 5 rectangles as shown above
- tin foil the sides that face each other of the creation from step 3 with hot glue as shown above
- play. with he components to make sure they are strong enough, if they are not add some more shapes over where two pieces are glues together to add some reinforcement
- cut off four sections of the wire however long you choose
- strip one inch from each end
- tape one wire end to each of the squares from the creation from step 2 as seen above
- attach wires to thin foiled surfaces and connect them to an input on the makey makey, the wire ends go in the back (see above picture)
