Adobe Animate: the Basic Ball (PART 1)

TUTORIAL1.jpg

Welcome to Adobe Animate! Now you might be a beginner and that's OK. I am not an expert in this software either but I can tell you the basics to start animating! I will go through the basic functions of Animate and tell you the essential details to help you. DISCLAIMER: YOU WILL NEED ADOBE ANIMATE TO DO THIS TUTORIAL. ANIMATE IS A PAID SOFTWARE SO YOU WILL NEED TO BUY IT BEFORE STARTING TO ANIMATE.

Supplies

You will need Adobe Animate and that's it! Nothing else.

Step 1: Setting Up

When you first enter Animate you are greeted with the Home Screen. This screen helps you select what kind of animation you are doing. For now press the "Create New" button. This will allow us to make a blank canvas to make our animation.

Step 2: Choosing Our Canvas

After clicking the "Create New" button, a menu will pop up showing us our different types of animation. Since we are doing a ball animation, choose the Character Animation Tab, click the first canvas and make the framerate 21.

Step 3: Loading It Up

After clicking the following buttons, a blank new canvas will open up showing us many of the buttons and the "Animating Spot" as I like to call it at the very bottom.

Step 4: Inserting Circle

On the left-hand side of the screen, you will see a button with a rectangle. Right click this button to get a dropdown menu. Then click the "Oval Tool" or the express key is "O"

Step 5: Making Our Ball

Left click and drag with your mouse to create a nice and even circle. If you do not like the color you can simply change it by going to the very bottom and choosing your desired color. You have successfully completely finished Part 1 of this tutorial. Stay tuned for the next part.
