Affordable 3 Seater Sofas

After many years I had to replace my couch, since it was torn and shabby. Unfortunately I haven’t many savings and all the sofas I saw in different shops weren’t completely unaffordable for me.

As I recently started my DIY experience, I tried to come up with a project to realize my own sofa in the cheapest and fastest way possible.

Why PlayWood?

Starting from these purposes, I decided to make my project as easy as I could imagine; thus I had a tiny budget and not much time to dedicate to it.

I bought some fir layers boards and some angle connectors, then I bought 4 wheels to make the housekeeping easier and some paddings to make the seater comfortable.

In my opinion the best solution in order to assemble wooden panels are the angle connectors merchandised by PlayWood: They are made of top-quality plastic materials and can support heavu weights, without giving up on aesthatic and practicality.

What Do I Need?

To realize this project you may need, for instace:

  • 12 angle Connectors 90°
  • 2 fir layers boards 150 x 55 cm - 59,06” x 21,65”
  • 2 fir layers boards 55 x 55 cm - 21,65” x 21,65”
  • 4 wheels Ø 16 cm (Ø 6,30”)
  • 8 paddings 50 x 50 cm - 19,68” x 19,68”

All the wooden panels are between 16 and 19 mm thick (3/4" and 7/8").

How Do I Build It?

Once I had all the stuff listed above, I secured the wheels to the largest board, than I joint my wooden panels one another through the PlayWood connectors system;and after that I glued the paddings to all the inner sides.

What Are You Waiting For?

In few simple steps I realized a design sofa, cleaning-friendly and always re-assemblable. I am very proud of this work and I replaced my old couch saving a lot of money! YAAAY
