- Pro tip: You could make the tuna spread and keep in an air tight container and in the morning just spread and air fry to save time for family.
- Pro tip: For busy mums and students, make them in advance and use reheat option on your Air fryer for a quick brunch or lunch.
Tuna Melts are delicious best eaten immediately, when they’re still warm and the cheese is gooey. However, you might need to store them for later consumption. Storing leftover tuna melts properly ensures that they remain safe to eat and taste as good as possible when reheated. Here are the steps to store and reheat your leftover tuna melts:
- Cool Completely:Allow the tuna melts to cool completely at room temperature. This helps prevent condensation, which can make the bread soggy when stored.
- Wrap Individually:Wrap each tuna melt individually in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. This will help maintain freshness and prevent them from drying out.
- Use Airtight Containers:Place the wrapped tuna melts in an airtight container. This adds an extra layer of protection against moisture and odors from other foods in the fridge.
- Refrigerate:Store the wrapped tuna melts in the refrigerator. They should be eaten within 2-3 days for the best quality and safety.
Reheating Leftover Tuna Melts
When you're ready to enjoy your leftover tuna melt, reheating it properly is key to retaining its flavor and texture.
- Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 350°F (175°C). Place them on the air fryer for 1-2 minutes on reheat or until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
