Airplane Stealth B2 Miniature (driving: Water Rocket)
first take 2 plates foamboard (thickness 5mm) and cut them with length 50cm and width 60cm. Then cut them with the shape of the real stealth b2, but leave at least 15cm behind the outsides.
first take 2 plates foamboard (thickness 5mm) and cut them with length 50cm and width 60cm. Then cut them with the shape of the real stealth b2, but leave at least 15cm behind the outsides.
Then cut out the form of a plastic bottle (preferable 2 liter) so the bottle cap stays just below the plates. Paste the 2 plates with the sides of 50cm together (so the plane has a wingspan of of 1,20m).
Make a piece out of a light foam with a shape as shown on the picture. This serves to advance the aerodynamics.
Make out of foamboard 2 upright wings that fit on the length left in step 1 (at least 15cm).
Now fit the plastic bottle on the bottom of the plane (
This step is not necessary if you use a one-piece-plate. If there are folds in the plates or specific points must be strengthened, add an extra plate of foamboard.
To create a profile, take some balsa wood-laths (thickness around 5mm) and cut 2 pieces with the height from 1,5cm to 0,5cm. Choose the length so the laths go over the full wing and at around 1/3th from the front of the wing.
For the profile, lay balsa wood-sheets (thickness 1mm) over the laths and te wings.
Before painting, stick the edges with a light tape.
Now paint the plane with spray paint (matt black). For stability, you can add a backwing. To create more weight in the top of the plane, you can use some pliable lead (as I did).
