Alcohol Gel Dispenser
Hello everyone, this time we are going to make an automatic gel dispenser that works by sensors. It is easy to make and do not need many materials.I hope you can join me in the process and that the project is to your liking!
List of Materials :
-
For the design of our dispenser we need:
-
i5 or i7 computer
-
mouse as peripheral
-
Fusion 360 program (I put the link to download it :) )
-
RDWorksV8(I put the link to download it :) )
-
3D printer
-
From here the materials mentioned above will be used when we have our dispenser ready to assemble.:
-
Servomotor
-
Ultrasonic proximity sensor
Design of Our Alchool Dispenser :D¡¡¡
First of all, we need to have our Fusion 360 program installed on our computer.
Now yes, we will begin to make the faces of our dispenser, remember that the measures of all the faces will be as images.
SIDE A(A1,A2): We will open the program and create a folder in which we can put all our progress, for that we will press the SAVE tool (located at the top) and select the "new project" option. Once saved, we will go to the CREATE SKETCH tool and we will press it, then we will click on one of the positioning sides that appear on the screen. Now we will press the CREATE option and select LINE, we will begin to make the A1 sides and in another tab the A2 side (which are the same), to make the lines we will press right click on our mouse and drag it, when we do this we can see that some measures appear, we can change them and give the corresponding measure. When we are half way to finish side A, we can use the MIRROW tool to complete the remaining half (we must draw a line in the center of the base of our side A), we only have to select the lines that we want to repeat and then press "mirrow line" select our line in the middle and finish by putting OKEY. Then press FINISH SKETCH (located at the top right). To give it a 3D effect we must select the CREATE tool and then look for the EXTRUDE option, the thickness of all the sides will be 3mm.If we want to give it the appearance of glass, metal, plastic, etc. we can go to MODIFY and press the "appearance" option, inside this option we can choose the appearance that we like and drag it to our SIDE A. That would be all for our A1 and A2 sides.

We will begin to make the faces of our dispenser, remember that the measures of all the faces will be like images.
SIDE B(B1,B2): We will open the program and press the SAVE option, we will save it in the same file but we will change its name to Side B . Once saved, we will go to the CREATE SKECHT tool, then we will click on one of the positioning sides that appear on the screen. Now we will click on the CREATE option and select LINE, we will start making the B1 side and in another tab the B2 side (they have the same measures), to make the lines we will click the right button of our mouse and drag it, when we do this we can see that some measures appear, we can change them and give the corresponding measure. When we are half way to finish side B, we can use the MIRROW tool to complete the remaining half (we must draw a line in the center of the base of our side B), we just have to select the lines we want to repeat and then press "mirrow line" select our line in the center and finish by putting OKEY. Then press FINISH SKETCH (located at the top right). To give it a 3D effect we must select the CREATE tool and then look for the EXTRUDE option, the thickness of all the sides will be 3mm.If we want to give it the appearance of glass, metal, plastic, etc. we can go to MODIFY and press the option "appearance", inside this option we can choose the appearance that we like and drag it to our SIDE B. That would be all for our B1 and B2 sides.
Design of Our Alchool Dispenser ( Part3) :D¡¡¡
We will begin to make the faces of our dispenser, remember that the measures of all the faces will be like images.
SIDE C: We will open the program and press the SAVE option, we will save it in the same file but we will change its name to Side C . Once saved, we will go to the CREATE SKECHT tool, then we will click on one of the positioning sides that appear on the screen. Now we will click on the CREATE option and select LINE. We will start making the C side, to make the lines we will press the right button of our mouse and drag it, when we do this we will be able to see that some measures appear, we can change them and give the corresponding measure. When we are about to finish side C, we can use the MIRROW tool to complete the remaining halves (we must draw a line in the center of the base of our side C), we just have to select the lines we want to repeat and then press "mirrow line" select our line in the center and finish by putting OKEY. Then press FINISH SKETCH (located at the top right), to give it a 3D effect we must select the CREATE tool and then look for the EXTRUDE option, the thickness of all sides will be 3mm. If we want to give it the appearance of glass, metal, plastic, etc. we can go to MODIFY and click on the option "appearance", inside this option we can choose the appearance that we like and drag it to our SIDE C. We must be careful when making this side since the measures vary between the vertical and horizontal sides.
Design of Our Alchool Dispenser (part4)
DISPENSER KEY: To make this key we will apply what we have been seeing in the previous faces, the measurements will be in the photos but here we will add one more step. We can see that this key has curves, to make the curves we must go to the TOOLS option there we will find a tool called FILLET, to use it we must select the sides where we want to form the curves and automatically that corner will become a curve, do not forget that at the end we will put FINISH SKETCH.To give it a 3D effect we must select the CREATE tool and then look for the EXTRUDE option, the thickness of all the sides will be 3mm.
Assembly of the Sides and Key
Now it's time to assemble the parts of our dispenser!!! There is almost nothing left to finish, I hope that so far everything has been understandable and fun for you. To assemble the parts first we must open our file (in which are all the sides and the key), create a new folder and name it ASSEMBLY (do not worry because in the photos you can clarify the doubts you have). On the left side should appear all the sides and the key what we will do is go to the C side, because this is the base of our dispenser, we press right click on it and press the option "Insert into current design" when we do this the C side will appear and we will put okey. Now we will do the same with the A1 side (right click and press the option "Insert into current design"), what we will do now is to assemble both sides, we will go to the ASSEMBLE option and inside we will press JOINT, then we must place ourselves in the edges of the A1 SIDE (exactly in one of the rectangles of the A SIDE), we press the A edge and the B edge and they will automatically join, we must do this same procedure with each one of the faces and the key.
Figure of Our Dispenser
We have already designed our gel dispenser, now we are going to put a figure, so that it has a better presentation, we will have to look for an image in DXF and then paste it on the side where we want our figure to be, after pasting it, with the LINE tool we will begin to outline the contour of our figure and when we finish with the EXTRUDE tool we will give it a volume of 2mm.
WE USE THE 3D PRINTER
Everything is ready. Now I will show you how you can see how will be the scanning of each of the pieces of the dispenser .First we have to open the RDWorks V8 program , already open we will go to our FUSION360 program and open our folder where the sides of our dispenser . We will open the side A and on the left side where it says SKETCHES we will have to look for the option SAVE AS DXF and there will appear an option to save. Once we have saved our image we will open it in the RDWorks V8 program, and we will open it by putting FILES (import) and we will open our image. Then we will follow the steps that indicate the images and ready. You will be able to see the scan of each of the sides of the dispenser. I hope you liked it and that it has been understood ♥♥
