Put the water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar in a bowl.

Cover it and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.

If your yeast doesn't foam or bubble after ten minutes it is dead and you need to get different yeast.

Take your dough and put it on a lightly floured surface.

Knead some flour in to it until it is not very sticky.

Divide your dough in half.

Take on half and roll it out into a 12 in by 18 in rectangle.

Put a 3 in strip of filling down the middle.

Fold over the sides.

Fold it into a rope and shape the dough into a horseshoe.

Put it on a greased baking sheet.

Repeat with the other half.

Frost your almond kringle with your choice of glaze and top with slivered almonds or maraschino Cherries.

I put pink frosting and candied almonds on mine.

Enjoy!
