Animal Crossing Town Hall
The model I made was from the video game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I enjoy playing the game and all the little details inside the homes and wanted to recreate one of the important buildings in the game, the town hall. The town hall has many details inside and I wanted to recreate it in a 3D model to the best of my ability using Fusion360.
This video game peaked during Covid times as everyone was home. This game felt like a perfect escape for many people since we all had to stay inside. This game went on to sell over 45 million units and has become a comfort game for a lot of people, me included. Which is why I decided to make my model after the town hall in the game.
Supplies
- Fusion 360 for the 3D model
- Cardboard for the physical model
- Adventure 4 3D Printer for some parts of the physical model.
- Hot Glue
- Cardstock paper as the floor of the 3D model
- Green paper to act as a base (Grass)
- Orange, red, white, and black paint to mix and make the painting colors
- 2 different paintbrushes
- Purple stick glue
- White, black, and purple filament for the 3D printer
Reference Images for 3D Model
I needed some reference images for the outside and the inside of the building. I used one image of the outside and one of the inside. Some details that helped me make my model were the pillars out front to give the entrance a better look, and the flag to give the outside more life. The clock on the top of the building was another touch I added after looking at the references
3D Model Shaping
The first part of the model I worked on was the building. I added the pillars on the front and also added the two steps in front. The roof has a clock like in the video game. It is purple to match the game as well. The outside was a very important component of this design as it's the first thing everyone sees.
The Inside Details
The first picture is the chest on the inside of the building on the left side. The right side has a machine for nook miles, a currency in the game. The back right of the building has a little cabinet. In front of the shelf, there is a chair next to a desk. The shelf was the most detailed part of the model. Making the boxes, the books leaning on each other, the plants leaning over each other, and all the individual files. The printer is next to it along with a desk. There's a computer and some books on the desks that are on each other. There is a clock at the back of the building like the one in the game.
Physical Model
The physical model is made out of mostly cardboard. It was tough to make it accurate with the size it had to be. I 3D printed many of the components like the flag stand and base on the outside.
Finished Product
This is my model of the town hall in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I hope you liked it!
