Anvil

After looking into different anvils and the prices of them. I decided it would be cheaper to build my own. After all how hard would it be. So I started looking around trash bens and this is what I came up with. I think it came out petty good. All materials used were free the only cost was my time and a few welding rods.

Next I welded the 1 1/2 inch round bar in. I welded it all the way under the 1 inch plate. Because when you hammer down on I beam it does ring out so I wanted to make it as stout as possible. That worked out pretty good. That blocked out the ringing when hammering.

Welding Last Step

I welded the 6 by 6 plate on one end so I could weld the hammer on then I welded the gusset underneath the hammer to give the hammer some support. All in all I think it really turned out well.
