Apple Barcode Engraver (Photonics Hackathon Phablabs)
Hi everyone,
As part of our Phablabs Photonics challenge, we were asked to create a device capable of replacing stickers on fruit.
Do you also hate fruit stickers? And would you like to make a environmentally friendly change? Then we would like to instruct you about our apple engraving machine. It can engrave any picture or barcode on the skin of an apple. This eliminates the need for the use of labels on fruit, which greatly reduces the greenhouse gas emissions and the amount of plastic waste that's ending up in landfills or being burned. It is also a very fun way of customising your own fruit. You can engrave any image you want.

Try the 3000 mW version if you want the engraver to do its job more quickly. If speed isn't a priority for you, you will be just fine with the 2000 mW version. It will take up to six weeks for the engraver to arrive, depending on your location.
Print the Engraver Stand
The engraver stand is split in 3 seperate pieces to make printing easier and more reliable. Connect the pieces using the bolts and nuts.
