In this Instructable, I used the same technique as https://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-a-199-aquarium-plant-into-a-1000-plant/, except I deconstructed the plants and made a more elaborate arrangement.

You will need:
  • aquarium plants
  • hydraulic cement
  • disposable gloves
  • tub for mixing cement
  • plastic wrap to protect your work surface
WARNING: DO NOT RINSE HYDRAULIC CEMENT DOWN THE DRAIN!

Deconstruct the Plants

Take a few plants apart and lay them out in a few bunches.  I laid out some recycled cement chips, to give an idea of the basic shape and to add height to the arrangement without having to use a lot of my hydraulic cement later.

Start Adding Cement at One End

Working quickly, put the plants in place before the cement begins to harden

OK, I know what you're thinking.  It looks like a long piece of poo with some plants sticking out of it.  But don't worry, it's not done yet.

Rough Out More Features and Get the Plants Ready

Again, I used recycled cement chips to rough out the general outline

After About an Hour, Flip It Over and Fill in the Gaps

There will be gaps and weak spots underneath, so it's important to shore up the underside of the arrangement

Clean Up the Edges and Put Your Plant in Action

After it cures for a couple more hours, brush off the excess cement and smooth off any sharp points.  Wash it off before putting it into the aquarium.
