Augie (little Hand Drill)
I designed these little augies because I needed light and portable drills for toy-making workshops. Kids use these to create the holes for attaching mounted motors (see https://www.instructables.com/id/Mounted-Hobby-Motor/ ) to projects.
MATERIALS
Thermoplastic
Screws
Corks (for "caps")
Boiled water in mug
TOOLS
Electric or stove top kettle
Melt thermoplastic in water for 3 minutes. Pull out the plastic with a spoon. Quickly poke the screw through the thermoplastic then "mush" the plastic onto the top of a screw and shape the handle. If the plastic hardens before you find the handle shape you like, just plop the entire augie in the boiled water for another 3 minutes and reshape.
