Supplies
- Straws
- Empty plastic water bottle with lid
- Scissors
- Marker
- Hot glue gun
Mark the Holes
Use a marker to draw two circles on the water bottle—one about ¼ from the top and the other about ¼ from the bottom. Each circle should be approximately the same size as the diameter of the straw.
Cut the Holes
Use scissors to cut the holes, make sure to not make it too big.
Insert the Straws
Insert the short end of the straws into the holes.
Fill the Hole
Fill the gap between the straws and the holes using hot glue, make sure there is no gaps for air to leak into the bottle
Adjust the Straws
Cut the bottom straw. You can adjust this length based on different conditions. We cut it at the same level as the bottom of the bottle as a reference.
Fill the Water Bottle
Fill the water bottle with water by plugging the straw at the bottom. Make sure the lid is on tightly after filling with water.
Once the straw is released, it will flow until the water line rises to plug the long straw on the top of it.
