We collect movies and movie memorabilia, particularly 80’s
movies. Our 6 year old daughter loves most of them too. Her favorite character in the Back to the Future movies is Doc Brown. We decided that this would be the year to make a tribute to the Back to the Future movies, and let her pretend to be Doc for a day.

Her Dad made the Delorean completely by hand, using the following materials: cardboard, paper mache, foam, wires, plastic, markers, and paint. He formed cardboard into the shape of a car and applied many layers of paper mache to make it strong. When the paper mache was complete, he painted the entire car. The rear end is made of different colors of foam, cardboard slats, and wires. The front of the Delorean has headlights and emblem made of foam, as well. We printed and laminated several items from the movie (clock tower flyers) and placed those in the car and on the wagon. The steering wheel, clock, and dashboard are made of cardboard, foam, and paint. There is wire attached by glue gun to the sides of the Delorean, as well as the back trunk. She is wearing old clothes/lab coat, sunglasses that we spray painted gray, and using an old remote. Her Dad applied a sticker of a famous quote from the movie to the windshield: “If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88mph you’re gonna see some serious sh**.” And…yes, the Mr. Fusion does have a real banana peel in it!! Happy Halloween!!!
