Back to School Treats: Caramel Dipped Lollipops
It’s almost time for back to school! And what better way to keep the kids from groaning about summer being over than a yummy back-to-school treat?
What you will need for Caramel Dipped Lollipops:
• Apple Saf-T-Pops
• Medium Sized Sauce Pan
• Stirring Spoon
Optional Packaging:
• Extra Small Treat Baggies
• String or Twisty Ties
Caramel Ingredients:
6 tbsp. Butter
¾ cup Brown Sugar
3 tbsp. Light Corn Syrup
Directions:
1. Combine all caramel ingredients in your sauce pan. Set to medium heat and stir ingredients until everything is melted nice and smooth. You should see bubbles forming in the caramel. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few moments.
2. Unwrap your Saf-T-Pops and dunk them in the caramel as far as you like! We tend to think that the more caramel the better!
3. Place your dunked Saf-T-Pops on a plate, cookie sheet, or wax paper to allow the caramel to set.
You can also stick them in the fridge— it helps the caramel harden.
Packaging:
If you’re planning on sending these to school with the kids, you need to wrap ‘em up. Use the smallest sized treat bags you can find, and pull them over your finished Saf-T-Pops. Then, either twist tie them or use some string to secure the packages.
