The future is here!!! This instructable will show you how to make your own Hoverboard replica. Its relatively simple and only took about a day to make. Let's get started!

Materials:

3/4" foam insulation

Epoxy resin

Pink spray paint

Pink Fur or felt fabric

Various Craft Paints

Spray Adhesive

Utility Knife

Bandsaw and Table Saw (optional)

Color Printer

Hot Glue Gun

Based on screenshots and internet research I made my hoverboard about 28" L x 7 1/2" W made from 3/4" foam insulation. To make the angled tale of the board I cut the overall shape of the board first, then cut it into two pieces 6" in from the back at a slight angle, then flipped one of the pieces over and reattached it using a hot glue gun on a low setting. I used a table saw and bandsaw to cut the main part of the board but a utility knife would work just fine. I then rounded over the edges by sanding it with 120 grit sandpaper.

The bottom details of the board were cut and carved out of the same foam then sanded. I made a pattern by drawing it up full scale based on my research. It is about 20" L x 6 1/2" W.

Once you have your parts cut out put a layer of epoxy resin on both sides of the main board allowing one side to set then applying resin to the other side. Next sand off any drips. Then If necessary repeat this step to get an even result. The other piece of the board also gets a coat or two of resin and drips sanded off.

Then paint the board using a couple thin coats with light pink spray paint. The other part of the board is painted with acrylic craft paint. The color you need for that are silver, black, red, and purple.

The last step is to attach the two parts of the board together, attach the decal and the footpad.The decal I used came from a PDF I found online. The decal was printed, pieced together and attach using spray adhesive.

Next I used hot glue to attach the two parts of the board together. The footpad was made by using a piece of scrap 1/8" plywood cut into a circle. The circle next is painted. Then the strap was made from a piece of pink fur purchased at a craft store. This piece is also constructed and attached using hot glue.I used hot glue to attach the two parts of the board together.
