Baked Carmel Popcorn (Without Corn Syrup)
This recipe is an easy dessert to make for Christmas, plus it contains no corn syrup. If you want to make it with corn syrup, just replace the maple syrup with corn syrup.
Set Out Your Ingredients
1 cup of butter
2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup of maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup of popcorn kernels, popped
2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup of maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup of popcorn kernels, popped
Melt the Butter in a Saucepan
Once your butter is melted, add the brown sugar, syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Once it reaches a boil, boil it for five minutes without stirring.
Pour Carmel Syrup Over Popcorn
You have to work fast or your carmel will harden. Mix until your popcorn is coated in carmel. Once your pot is empty put water in it, or it will be almost impossible to wash.
Put Carmel Popcorn on a Shallow Baking Pan
Bake at 250 degrees F for one hour, stirring the popcorn every 15 minutes. Once it is done let it cool completely.
