Basic and Simple Mandala Design Tutorial
Drawing a mandala might seem difficult and challenging at first with all the details and symmetry. But I will show you a really easy method to draw a mandala with absolutely no trouble at all. Once you get the hang of it, you will enjoy the benefits of a mandala and reach a high level of relaxation while practicing this art.

Supplies
- A4 white paper
- 12" Ruler
- Protractor
- Compass
- 0.2 drawing pen
- Pencil
Draw a Mandala Grid
- Mark the center of the paper.
- Draw a vertical and a horizontal line crossing the center.
- Using the compass, draw eight circles who have as a center the "center" of your paper.
- The circles have the following radii: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 cm.
- Trace grid lines separated by 15 degrees.
Fill the First Row of the Mandala Grid.
On the first row of your mandala grid, draw one arc petal on each grid section.
Retrace the outline of the inner circle.
Fill the Second Row of the Mandala Grid
- Draw one arc petal on each two grid sections.
- Draw an inner outline inside of each arc petal that has as a starting and end point the base of the previously drawn petal.
- Draw another small arc inside of the double arcs.
Fill the Third Row of the Mandala Grid
Draw one arc petal on each grid section.
Fill the 4th Row of the Mandala Grid
- Draw one arc petal on each two grid section.
- Draw an inner outline of the arcs.
Fill the Fifth Row of the Mandala Grid
- Draw an arc petal on each 2 grid sections.
- Draw a double inner outline of these arcs.
- On the border of the inner arc, draw a small reversed arc with a double outline.
Fill the Sixth Row of the Mandala Grid
Draw one arc on each grid section.
Fill the Final Row of the Mandala Grid
- Draw an arc on each two grid sections, holding within 2 arcs of the previous row.
- Between each two large arcs draw a smaller arc.
- Erase the grid lines with an eraser.
