Batarang Mistletoe

On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me - some Batman mistletoe!

Mistlebat? Mistleman? Batstletoe?

Whichever, this was an easy project to put together that, if you don't have some already, will give you an excuse to hang some mistletoe in the house - and have that special geek flair that I put on all my projects.

Here's how I put it together:

Supplies

Supplies I used: (with affiliate links)

Green filament - https://amzn.to/33XkqPc

Red filament - https://amzn.to/2EovjPM

Craft wire - https://amzn.to/2EebpH6

Eyehook - https://amzn.to/36Lek6a

Tools I used:

3d printer - https://amzn.to/2YlOsLo

Hot glue gun - https://amzn.to/38nKmqK

Print Batarangs

I went and found a Batarang on Thingiverse (this is a hard step if you have trouble deciding which variant of Batarang you like best) and brought the file into Cura.

I duplicated the Batarang 2 times and sized and placed the Batarangs. I sent the file to the 3d printer and printed the Batarangs out of green filament.

Adding Craft Wire

I snipped off 3 lines of craft wire at 9" long, and took the glue gun and started gluing the wire to the back of each of the Batarangs. I glued each wire about 1 1/2" in from the each end.

I waited for the glue to dry, and then brought the 3 Batarangs together and put a drop of glue at the intersection of the wire.

Printing the Berries

I found a file on Thingiverse of a berry and brought it into Cura. I duplicated the berries, and sized them into two different sizes, then sent the file to the printer and printed the berries with red filament.

Adding the Berries

Using the hot glue gun, I glued the berries to the center of the mistletoe. I only ended up using 3 of the berries, so had an extra just in case.

Twist and Shout (then Hang)

Once the glue was dry, I twisted the craft wire all together into a single strand and put a hook in the end.

I added an eyehook to the center of the entryway in my house, then hung the mistletoe up!

Use With Caution

Now that it's hung with care, please be careful. If Batman Returns taught me anything it's that mistletoe can be deadly if you eat it, but a kiss can be even deadlier if you mean it.
