Bath Bombs

Hey guys, so today i'm doing something a little different, we are going to make bath bombs. I love making these, they can be a little complicated but once you get the hang of it, it will become easier.

what you will need:

baking soda

epsom salt

corn starch

citric acid

castor oil or coconut oil or vegetable oil (any of these will work)

essential oils of your choosing

sope coloring or food coloring

water

and measuring cups

once you have all of the ingredients, you will need to measure out the mixtures

dry mixture measurements:

1/2 cup of baking soda

1/4 cup of epsom salt

1/2 cup of cornstarch

1/2 cup of citric acid

once you have all of the measurements out, mix them all together in a bowl and whisk for about 2 min.

in a separate small cup or shot glass, measure out the wet ingredients

wet mixture measurements:

3tsp. of castor oil

1Tbs. essential oils

about 15 drops of food or soap coloring

1Tbs of water

mix all of the wet ingredients in a small glass

once you have the wet and dry mixtures, slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry, it will start to fizz and that's ok just quickly mix the ingredients together until the fizzing stops, and once all of the ingredients are mixed together, it is time to fill the mold

now it's time to fill the mold, i have found that a 3D ball mold helps the best because it keeps its shape inside the mold while it dries, but you can use any mold, so get the mold and start tightly packing the mixture inside and make sure that when you close the mold the two sides touch each other so that when it dries the two sides bond together

one the mixture is enclosed inside the ball leave it for about 3 hours, make sure to check every 30min. to make sure that the ball mold does not crack open, if the mold opens on its own that's because there is too much water and its causing it to expand, the way to cure this is to, open the mold, empty the contents into a bowl and stir until it's back into a powder and add more cornstarch to soak up the water, then just pack it back into the mold and just keep checking on it, if there isn't enough water it may crack when you take it out of the mold so be careful

if you would like to use this immediately just put the mold inside the freezer for about 10 to 15 min.

once you think that the ball is dry enough get the mold and tap on the outside to loosen the contents from the mold

then it should just pop out if its still mushy then just put it back in the mold and wait a couple more hours, then you should be done, the next time you take a bathe just throw it in and it should start fizzing and the sweet aroma will fill the room
