Beaded Necklace From Old Jeans and Plastic Bottles

Don't throw away old jeans and plastic bottles. You can make unusual beads out of them. It is very quick and easy, and as a result you will get an original necklace.

Cut a flat part (middle) from a plastic bottle.

Mark strips 0.4 inch wide (scratch off), about 10 inches long. Cut out the strips (one strip for one plastic bead).

Roll up the plastic strip. Then roll the plastic strip in the opposite direction. Repeat this with all the stripes.

I came up with the idea of fixing the plastic with an iron to get the plastic beads of a perfectly even shape. Turn the iron on to the highest temperature setting. Adjust the diameter of the rolled plastic strip (if necessary, roll it tighter) and press for a few seconds to the heated iron, first on one side. Press down to keep the opposite side straight. Do not hold for long, otherwise the plastic will begin to bend. Then press the rolled strip on the other side for a few seconds. The rolled strip should stop unrolling, but also not bend. The plastic bead is ready. Make several plastic beads.

Cut strips 4 inches long and 0.5 inch wide from denim. The number of the denim strips is twice as many plastic beads.

Cut the strips diagonally into two equal parts - two right-angled triangles. Cut off the sharp edge.

Wrap the denim triangle around a knitting needle as shown and glue the end with hot glue. Remove the denim bead from the knitting needle. Repeat this step with each denim triangle.

String the denim beads onto a cord, alternating with plastic beads.
