Best Coffee Cake Ever
This coffee cake is guaranteed to get rave reviews.
Not only that, but is easy to make in a jiffy and if you do any baking, odds are you will have all the ingredients on hand. You'll find that it is a great "company's coming" recipe.
It is a modified version of the "Prize Coffee Cake" found in the 1956 version of the Betty Crocker Cookbook.

Gather Equipment
The need equipment includes:
-8x8 baking pan (preferably Pyrex)
-large mixing bowl
-small mixing bowl
-wooden spoon (for mixing the batter)
-small mixing spoon (for struesel mix)
-assorted measuring cups and spoons
-rubber spatula
-toothpick (to test if done)
(Yes, you do need an oven also!!!)

-Milk (Whole is best)
-Brown Sugar
-Butter
-Shortening (if desired)
-Egg
-Baking powder
-Salt
-Cinnamon

3/4 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Butter (or shortening)
1 Egg
1/2 cup Milk
1 1/2 cup Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Streusel Mixture:

2 teaspoons Cinnamon
2 Tablespoons melted Butter
If you live at High Altitudes:
-increase Flour to 1 5/8 cup
-decrease baking powder to 1 teaspoon
1/4 cup Butter (or shortening)
1 Egg
1/2 cup Milk
1 1/2 cup Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt

The streusel is what really sells this cake. Be generous with your ingredients, NO SKIMPING.
-Melt butter in microwave. (Around 30 seconds)
-Mix in brown sugar and cinnamon.

Assemble the Cake
Pour 1/2 of the batter into your prepared greased and floured pan.
Sprinkle 1/2 of streusel mix over the batter. (The streusel should be moist , rubbing it between your fingers should help to spread it evenly.)
Spread remaining bater over top of the struesel.
Top with remaining streusel.

Bake the Cake
Place pan in preheated oven .
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 375 degrees.
To check if cake is done, insert a clean toothpick into center of cake. If toothpick comes out clean, your cake is done. If batter clings to toothpick, bake cake for additional 5minutes, and recheck.
Allow cake to cool for 10-15 minutes.
