Best of Both Worlds: Immune-Boosting Tea and Potpourri
What better way to practice self-care than making yourself an immune-boosting tea while also making your house smell like it's the holidays again! Definitely give this recipe a try this winter!
Gather Your Ingredients
- Dried or fresh ginger slices
- Dried orange peel
- The next time you eat an orange, save the peel. Air-dry them naturally on a plate for a few days. Once dry, store in a ziploc bag in the fridge to maintain freshness.
- Cinnamon sticks
All of these ingredients are great for boosting your immune system and warming up your body!
(I also added some dried lotus root because it's supposed to be good for hormonal balance, but I know not everyone will have that readily available. The other ingredients already make this tea extremely good for you!)
Boil Everything Together
Fill a pot with filtered or bottled water. Add enough of the dry ingredients to your liking. Bring everything to a boil and boil for about 15 minutes. Your house should already be starting to smell amazing!
Drinking Time!
Once your tea is done brewing, strain out the ingredients.
Either drink right away or allow it to cool and place it in the fridge. It should be good for about one week. I recommend stirring/shaking the tea that you store away before drinking, as some of the spices may have settled at the bottom of your pitcher.
Feel free to add in some honey if you want it sweet. This can be drunk hot or cold, but I prefer it hot.
