Bike Handlebar Smartphone Mount

I've been looking for some easy and strong way to put my smartphone in my bike as i walk around ciclyng or catching Pokemons, but none of the suports that i've found were strong enough. The last one that I bought doesn't held the smartphone in impacts like a road bump or a rocky way so I decided to make myself one that could be a little more 'hardcore' and came up with this. Works flawlessly tho.

What We Will Need?

For this one I used a GoPro bike handlebar mount, a GoPro tripod mount, a GoPro thumbscrew and an old smartphone cover.

Preparing the Pieces

All the 'hard work' you'll have here is to remove the nut that holds the thumbscrew and cut away the bump where the nut used to be. If you don't cut this excess your screw won't get to the nut from the handlebar mount and you won't be able to tighten it up. You can also sand the side from where you removed the nut and the bump to a cleaner look. I haven't done it because I hadn't sandpaper here.

After that you just need to superglue this piece behind your smartphone cover (pay attention to the right position. If in doubt you can mount it in your bike to see wich way to glue the pieces). After that just let it dry for a few minutes and we are done.

Mounting the Suport

Now you just need to go to your bike and put all together where you preffer. I have mounted mine like that and then put the cover over it with the thumbscrew.

A few kilometers later and everything is still holding on better than the pre made old suport that I had.

Sorry for any english mistake and thank you!

(P.S.: Those velcro tabs in the cover are from a previous and not so secure build that i've tryed.)
