Birthday Calendar

Foto 1163.jpg

This a birthday calendar I did with my 5th grade pupils for the 1st grade pupils. I had one of this in my classroom too (but it's a cake).

Please vote for me if you like it :)

Materials:

  • colored thin cardboard
  • felt tips
  • glue
  • scissors
  • printer and/or photocopier
  • ruler

Using the felt tip and the ruler, divide the bigger cardboard in 12 spaces. In this case I wanted to do a house, a conduminium, so I divided the rectangle in 2 columns and 6 rows.

You can do a cake, a park, a city, a boat.... whatever you want!

Months

Print the names of the months (I used paper of different colours), cut them and glue one per space, of course in the right order.

Windows

Print/draw/photocopy some little windows and cut them. Fold the shutter.

Inside the windows, under the folded shutter, write the name of the pupils and outside the day of their birthday. Every window will be one pupil's birthday.

Bday

Glue the windows in the right month. For exaple, if one of your pupil's birthday is November 29th, glue her/his windows with 29 outside and her/his name inside in the November space.

I did it with teachers' names and birthdays too.

It's Done!

This is a simple way to teach months and to celebrate your pupils' birthdays!
