When it comes to the Medieval Ages, what comes to your mind? Castles, swords, chivalry, knights, perhaps the monarchy? It’s a time when noble knights quested for honor, brave souls set out on remarkable journeys to the unknown, and legendary figures solved mysteries… Well, how about we combine all these elements together into one interactive 3D board game!

This board game is called “Castle Conquest: Rise of the Knight” and I used TinkerCAD to design it. I was inspired to develop this 3D board game because Medieval times simply intrigues me and I wanted to learn more. And what would be a better way to acquire the knowledge of history than playing a board game related to it!

Researching

In this stage, I leveraged many tools and resources to enhance my knowledge about the Middle Age including using Google search, checking out library books and using the ChatGPT. In ChatGPT, I used the prompts: tell me about the middle ages in bullet points? ChatGPT instantly gave me some fundamental ideas of the terms and glossaries specific to the Middle Ages such as chivalry, knighthood, manorialism, parts of a castle, and the Feudal System.

This is an original game and was very well received by my teachers and classmates. My family of 4 also had a very fun time playing it!
