Book Switch: Dualism
Today, I will teach you how to make a series circuit that can be inserted in ANY book in order to make it special and display dualism within books and art in essence. (p.s. you have to be okay with ripping out practically all the pages in a book except for about 3-5.) Enjoy. Also, make sure to watch the magic in the dark!!

Find a book you are okay with destroying.
Highlight Two Words.
Make a box shape outline on two words within the middle of the page that have contradicting connotations.
Cut a Rectangle on All Pages.
Make a rectangle cut within slightly one inch above the middle of the page. Make sure the cut is above all of the words that have been highlighted on each page.
Make a Series Circuit on Last Page.
Using copper tape, 2 leds, and 2 coin batteries, make a series circuit using the instructions from the sketch to guide your circuit.
Use a Black Marker to Cross Off Words.
Make a strong black rectangle around the words with dualism that have been highlighted.
Place Circuit Behind Pages. Turn Lights Off.
Make sure the circuit is taped down or glued down in order for it not to move too much when you flip the pages. Turn the lights off so that you can see the real effect of the led lights that illuminate the two words. (This switch works as a metaphor for dualism within books and art. Despite words being on the same page, there is always dualistic meanings within a book- there’s no such thing as one interpretation for a book- or art in general. In addition, the fact that only very few pages have been selected show that people’s perception of art becomes more close-minded and black and white when they only focus on a minor detail. Therefore, rather than cherry pick it, one should accept it in its entirety. Also, the pages that have been selected are all said to be unlucky numbers and are odd numbers. In other words, the pages are literally odd.
