Bouncing Shield(Captain America)
"The price of freedom is high, but it's a price I'm willing to pay, and if I'm the only one than so be it, but I'm willing to bet I'm not."- Captain America
Captain America's shield is more than a shield, it is a symbol, and now you can make this iconic shield. His shield has the ability to bounce back to him, so that is exactly what this amazing shield does.
Supplies
-Velcro ball game paddle
-Duct tape
-Plastic grocery bag
-Red and blue construction paper
-Mod podge
-Scissors
-A Pencil
Preparing
First, take the rim, off the Velcro game paddle. After that, cut the bag into two circles about an inch wider than the plastic rim.
Assembling
Next, wrap the bag pieces around the plastic rim, and tape them together. Keep wrapping the tape around until one side is completely covered.
The Design
For the star I used this link-https://printablee.com/postpic/2014/08/10-inch-sta... and printed it at 43 percent scale.
For the outer stripe I traced half of the rim on a folded piece of red construction paper and then made a second half circle half an inch thinner than the first. I then cut along both lines and unfolded the paper and had a half inch wide outer stripe.
Next, for the inner red circle, use the circular scrap from the outer stripe and cut half an inch off it.
For the middle blue circle I cut a semicircle half an inch thinner than the inner red circle onto a folded piece of red construction paper. After that I cut it out.
To get the design on, I used Mod Podge to glue the pieces on one at a time and let it dry for about an hour.
Finished/Throwing
The shield is now complete, now you can throw it. To throw it you can either throw it at a corner, or at a wall.(It works better at a corner.) Make sure it is straight, otherwise it won't bounce back. The harder you throw it, the more it will bounce.
