Braided Pizza

This recipe is quick and easy to make.  The finished product is delicious and fun.  Great for parties, fun for kids, or perfect for whenever you are craving a pizza snack! 

Ingredients 
1 package of crescent rolls (8 rolls)
2 cups of grated mozzarella cheese
Pepperoni 
Pizza Sauce (optional)
*can substitute cheese and pepperoni for your favorite pizza ingredients and toppings

Tools
Baking Sheet
Knife
Rolling Pin (optional- can use back of spoon or hands if desired)

Time
Prep Time: 10-15 minutes
Cook Time:11-13 minutes


Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 375 degrees with baking rake in center of oven

Prepare the Crust

Open package of crescent rolls and unroll on baking sheet.  Connect crust by pinching individual rolls together forming a rectangle. Use rolling pin or back of spoon to smooth out.  

Add Pepperoni and Cheese

Place pepperoni down middle of the crust leaving about two inches on each side.  Sprinkle cheese on top of pepperoni layer.  Add another layer of pepperoni.  Sprinkle with additional cheese if desired.

Prepare Crust for Braiding

Make slits in crust about 3/4 inch apart on each side of the crust.  

Note: Try to line up slits on each side.  Does not have to be exact, but you want the same number of sections on each side.  

Braid the Crust

Start at the top of the crust.  Pull the first section over toppings.  Pinch/press crust down on opposite side lightly so dough stays in place over toppings.  Take matching section on the other side of the crust and pull over top of other section.  Again pinching/pressing crust lightly in place.  Repeat down entire length of crust

Bake

Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 11-13 minutes or until crust is light golden brown. Make sure crust is completely cooked on folded areas.

Enjoy

Cut pizza loaf into slices and enjoy.  Dip in pizza sauce if desired.
