Braided Tug Toy for Toothy Puppies!

Ever tried to make a dog toy? It's kinda hard. Finding safe materials, making sure it won't break or rip, afraid your pup will eat it? It's happened. And this here is a solution! A simple braided tug toy can be fun for both you and your special little puppy. And guess what? The materials are easy to find! Just get any old t-shirt and snip-twist-BOOM.

-Old t-shirt (or any safe stretchy fabric/article of clothing, whatever works for you.)

-A surface to work on

-Scissors

-Tape, optional

-And your furry cutie to play with ;)

• Gather your things, as shown in the image above, then find a good surface to work and cut on! (I used a t-shirt and stretchy leggings.)

• Just so the toy is easier on the dog's teeth, I recommend cutting off that top seam part on leggings. (as shown in top image)

• Now, you can cut your strips of clothing! I would start at the bottom, since that's where shirts are the straightest. (Tip, the longer the strip, the longer the toy, the longer you get to play tug-of-war with your dog!)
• You can do any width, just as long as it's not so thin that it'll get mixed in and lost in the bigger fabrics, or the dog can easily rip/eat it.
• Make 2-4 strips, depending on what kind of braid you would like to do. (I did a twist with two different coloured strips.)

• Hold your 2-4 strips together and tie a knot at the top, as shown above in the first image.
• Now, if you want to, hold down the extra parts above the knot with tape to make your job easier. (You can use really anything if you want to)
• After, you can twist/braid the pieces together, making sure you are braiding tight enough so that the toy stays together.
• When you are finished, tie the end without a knot together. (Of course, with a knot.)

• Know, to make this toy even more fun for the dog, you can fold it in half, and then tie the folded part in a tight knot. Now your dog has a knot to munch around on!
