Brakeball
Brakeball is a... well I guess you call it an 'indie sport'. A game with features mixed in from sports such as soccer, basketball, biking, and American football eve. The game is played with two teams of eight opposing each other on a field of either turf (recommended), grass, or dirt/sandy terrain. Put simply, the two teams try to get as many points as possible before time runs out. Oh yeah... I forgot to mention something. At all times, every player on the field must ride and remain on a bike the entire time. Read on for more rules, details and play of game.
The Field
General
The field is any size that the players wish to play on, a set size has not been determined. The recommended size would be a little less length of a soccer field but slightly wider since you are on bicycles. Nice terrain for brakeball would be a turf field, but plain grass/dirt/sand fields would do fine for playing the game. The field is ovular in shape and is split up into two halves. The two halves are represented by two ovals on each side which overlap in the middle creating 'No-man's land'. If the description is difficult to understand, it is shaped like a venn diagram with ovals so the outside of the field is relatively straight.
No-Man's Land
No-man's land is the point on the center of the field where player's may stay without of fear of being knocked off their bikes. No-man's land is also useful for beginning a plan of attack with the ball.
Net Area
The net area is the area around the net (goal) which is the only area which the Stopper of that side may reside in. Field players may enter and leave the Net Area as they wish for a small amount of time, but they may not stay their for a long time. It is up to the referee of that game to decide if the player has been in the Net Area for too long or not.

The Players
General
Only eight players are allowed on the field at one time for either team. One of them is the Stopper, or goalie, and the other seven players are the field players and can move around the remainder of the field, the areas outside of the net areas, and can be placed in positions which can be decided by the teams.
Field Players
Field players must stay on their bikes to the best of their abilities at all times. The only time they should be off their bikes is if they are knocked down and need to get back up or if the ball went out of bounds and they are kicking it in.
Stopper
The stopper is the keeper of the net. The stopper is the only player not needed to be on a bike. The stopper can only stay in the net area. Leaving the area for a stopper is a penalty. Two defense balls are also placed near the net for the stopper to used. Defense balls can be used for two reasons: to block incoming balls coming at the net or to hit or knock down incoming offenders of the other team off their bikes.

Play of Game
The game is one near continuous game of 60 minutes except for a minuscule amount of time where the teams switch sides. Both teams attempt to take the main ball, not the defense balls, and pass them around their team to score goals. At the end of the 60 minutes, the team with the most goals wins. If at any time the ball leaves the field of play, then the team that the ball bounced off last goes to defense, and the other team gains the ball. One player dismounts their bike and places the ball on the boundary line. The ball is kicked in and then the kicking player must immediately remount his bike and play is resumed. Time never stops for anything and no time is added at the end, but delaying the game is a serious penalty and results in a penalty kick for the opposite team which is taken at the top most point of the net area. Other reasons for penalty kicks: stepping off of your bike, ramming, hitting, or pushing someone off their bike while in the net area, and the stopper leaving the net area.
Physical Contact
Physical contact is allowed on Brakeball. Ramming of your bike into another player's bike to knock them off of it is allowed, so is shoving someone, and the stopper is allowed to throw defense balls at players. Hitting, punching, and kicking are all not allowed for any reason.
Throw off
A coin toss decides who gets the ball first. The winning team decides if they want throw off or to receive and which side they wish to defend. They will defend that side for half the game then switch sides. The team that throws off throws the ball (obviously) to the receiving team. Once the receiving team touches the ball, play has begun, and both teams may advance.
