Bread Dumplings (semmelknödel)


Ingredients
250 g bread cubes (You can use old white bread too)
60 g butter
60 g onions
200 ml milk
40 g flour
3 eggs
salt
parsley
(I will convert the grams and liters to ounces and cups later (milliliter is 1/10 liter, 1 kilo is 1000 g))
Preparation





Brown the onions in butter.
Mix the eggs with milk and salt it.
Now dash the bread cubes with the "eggmik" and mix in the onions. Wait a few minutes, add flour and knead it.
Cooking


Now form 6 dumplings with wet hands and cook it slowly in salted water for about 12 minutes.
(the last photo doesn't look very good because of the steam)
It's a typical side dish in austria and bavaria -> e.g. for esterhazyrostbraten (sirlion steak alla esterhazy)
