Broiling Shrimp
Hi, my name is Pierce Holien. If you have watched the movie “Forest Gump” Bubba talked about all the different ways to cook shrimp such as barbeque, boil, sauté, bake and pan fry. I like to eat shrimp on a regular basis for a snack and lunch. I am the best person to show people how to cook because it’s one of my favorite things to eat and I cook it at home. I am going to show you one way to eat shrimp and that is broiling it in the oven. Trust me, it’s very good right out of the oven. This could be easy for kids to cook as a Tech student.
Supplies
The supplies you will need are an oven, shrimp, oil, tin foil, salt and pepper
Preparation Steps
First, get frozen raw shrimp at the grocery store. Make sure it is thawed. Next, pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel. The size can be large or extra- large. Thirdly, preheat the oven and set it to the broiler option.
Adding Cooking Oil
Place the shrimp in a bowl. Next, add 2-3 Table spoons of cooking oil and stir it with a spoon. Once it is done being stirred, check to see if the oil is covering all of the shrimp. Add a little more oil if there is not enough. The goal is to have all the shrimp covered with It’s easier to add extra than too much in the bowl. The shrimp shouldn’t be drenched in oil but lightly covered.
Seasoning With Salt and Pepper
Finally, the shrimp is ready to be transferred to a tray covered with tin foil. Spread them apart so none of them are touching. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
Put It in the Oven
Put the tray in the oven and broil for two minutes. Keep a close eye on the shrimp to be sure they don’t overcook. The pan gets hot, so the shrimp will be nicely cooked.
Enjoy
The final step is to take the shrimp out of the oven. As soon as the shrimp is ready to go, remove the baking sheet from the oven, transfer it into a dish. Make sure the food is nice and warm before you serve it.
