Building a Pitching Mound
Here are a few simple steps to building your own pitching mound.
Measure out the proper distance from home plate.
Shovel out a circle of dirt to get an idea for the size of the mound.
Shovel the purchased dirt into wheelbarrows and take it out to the mound.
Tamp the dirt.
Repeat this process until mound is completely tamped and most of the dirt has been used.
Dig out a hole for the rubber and steel stand.
Place the steel stand in the hole.
Fill the hole with cement to keep the steel stand in place.
Place the rubber into the steel stand.
