In my jewelry making adventure I decided to try to make some awesome jewelry using buttons. One of these pieces was a button necklace.

Supplies

Here is what I needed to make my button bracelet.

Buttons

Twine

Scissors

Cut Twine

I started by cutting the twine to my desired length

Two pieces of twine were about 24" long

The other two pieces of twine were about 20" long

I tied the 4 pieces together at one end.

Weave Buttons

The next step was to string on the buttons

I took advantage of the holes in the buttons and wove the twine into the button holes, creating overlaps and crosses to keep the buttons in place.

Since this was going to be a double layer necklace I chose to string buttons on both the 20" twine and the 24" twine. When stringing make sure you do not mix up any of the pieces or you will end up with a very confusing looking necklace.

Tie Off End

Once I was happy with the length and size of the necklace, I tied off the other end of the necklace.

Since I did not create a loop on the first end, after tying off I tied the excess twine into a loop to create a fastener for my necklace.

Wear

Finally my necklace was ready to wear out and about.
