Hello, I am a Mechanical Engineering student at San Jose State University in the American Society Mechanical Engineers. The above image displays the design of a pool table, through the work of Fusion 360 and its many features provided by Autodesk. Other than the drive of the Game Design Competition, my real inspiration for making this table was due to my love for the game of Pool as well as it being one of my dad's favorite games as well. The game itself is for all ages, which makes it more inclusive. Another reason was due to its application for the time given for the competition, also, I felt it was complex enough to make for the sake of my own development as an Engineering student, in pursuit of becoming Design Engineer in the near future.

  1. Form a rectangle of any sort, but make sure the length is couple the width, in this case, I have a 712x356 (mm)
  2. Extrude the sketch to 10 mm.
  3. On extrusion, centrally sketch the rectangle with an offset, of between 8 to 10 mm.
  4. Then on the ends of outer offset, form another sketch to form a rectangular pattern of diamonds, or any shape to go long the edges of the table. Do these for one corner, then mirror around the patterns all throughout the rest of the table for the other corners.
  5. Design the holes and their bases in their assigned locations (corners and middle of long lines)
  6. Extrude the rectangular offset as well as edges using the Pick and Pull, the offset rectangle about 1-3mm higher than the out edge.
  7. Extrude the diamonds after as a joint body.
  8. Fillet the extruded edges (not diamonds)
  9. Fillet the back corners of the diamonds
  10. Extrude the outer base of the holes
  11. Color the faces and bodies to your own liking

  1. Match the same dimensions of the table for rectangle.
  2. Construct an offset plane from the rectangle 16 mm. down
  3. Make another center rectangle from the origin of the offset plane that is the same dimensions of the inner pool table (perimeter of green area).
  4. Form a loft between each rectangle.
  5. Make a shell of 10mm thickness on each rectangular end.
  6. Color appearance to your liking

Hole Shell

  1. Draw this drafted shape along an axis
  2. Revolve
  3. Make a shell from the top
  4. make a color to your choice

  1. Table Stands
  2. Sketch a trapezoid that has a inner angle of 70 degrees.
  3. Extrude
  4. Fillet the sides.
  5. Cut two holes at the center of the fillet arc.
  6. Bridge
  7. Sketch rigid shape with a symmetric arc
  8. Make the ends 70 degree under the horizontal
  9. Bottom Stand
  10. Form a loft 30 mm away between a 30 mm and 8 mm diameter circle
  11. Extrude from top by 30mm

  1. Sketch a circle of 3.5 mm
  2. create an offset plane from that shape that is 290 mm away
  3. Sketch a circle of 6 mm
  4. perform a loft
  5. Add one more offset plane in opposite direction from first circle
  6. Sketch identical circle and perform another loft
  7. Lastly add spheres to the surfaces of each end
  8. color design to your liking

  1. Make a series of circles in the formation of a triangle.
  2. sketch remaining circles in necessary spots.
  3. trim all these circles in half for sphere revolution.
  4. mirror to the opposite side
  5. Next sketch smaller circles in the center of all the pool balls
  6. Sketch two rectangles for the top set of the balls as well as one half the length of the previous
  7. Sketch numbers into small circles
  8. Perform a split body on the balls, using the rectangles, numbers and small circles as a splitting tool.
  9. Color each ball in accordingly
  10. Add a final sphere 20 mm away from the triangle set of balls using similar process for the red cue mark with the split body feature.
  11. For Triangle
  12. Sketch a 3-Side polygon to surround the balls.
  13. Fillet the corners.
  14. Form two sketch offsets
  15. Using Push-Pull feature or extrusion, extrude inner offset 20mm high.
  16. Extrude second offset 5mm high.
