CHRISTMAS COOKIE PLATE

intro.JPG

I work with a guy who is an amazing baker. He will often bring in special treats that he made to share with us. When I was chosen to be his "secret santa" I wanted to make him a special treat so I decided to make him a plate for his Christmas Cookies!

Supplies

Finding Images

I found the images I wanted to use for my plate design on some old christmas cards and place mats

I carefully cut my pieces to begin.

Decide how you want to compose the design and paint mode lodge on the underside of the plate.

Place your cut out images face up so they show through the glass.

Press any air pockets out by rubbing gently on the back of the paper.

Seal With Modge Podge

When you collage is done paint one final layer of mode lodge over the entire surface of the underside of the plate.

Finishing Touches

When completely dry choose a color of acrylic paint to cover the underside of the plate. You may need to let it dry and add a second coat if there are streaks.

When dry clean off any paint smudges that may have sealed around the edges.

Your plate is finished

*Remind your recipient that the plate should be hand wiped if necessary. Never submerge in sink or dishwasher!
