Cake Batter Ice Cream - Cold Stone Copycat Recipe
Cake batter ice cream is my husband's favorite flavor at Cold Stone Creamery. So, for his birthday I decided to make it at home. Wow, it is simple to make, creamy and so, so delicious!!!
If my husband and I take our two boys to Cold Stone for a special treat and each of us gets an ice cream with some kind of mix-in it ends up being close to $20. Yikes! Making it at home cut my cost to about $5 AND I got to control all of my ingredients. We eat all organic in our house so it's an added bonus that it's organic cake batter ice cream!

Cake Batter Ice Cream Recipe
To make cake batter ice cream I used an old basic vanilla ice cream recipe I had and basically just added cake batter!
Cake Batter Ice Cream - Cold Stone Creamery Copycat Recipe
1 pint heavy cream*
1 c. milk* (I used 2%)
1/2 c. sugar*
1 c. dry yellow box cake mix* (you could also make your own instead of using a box)
2 t. vanilla extract
pinch of turmeric* (optional, however, it doesn't add flavor but gives the ice cream it's deep cream color)
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until mixture is smooth. Chill mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
*organic ingredients

Freeze in Ice Cream Machine
After mixture is adequately chilled freeze according to ice cream machine instructions.
Mixture will become thick and creamy in about 20-30 minutes depending on your machine!
Eat, enjoy and save money!!
