Camp Chair Repair, Using Instamorph
Some chairs are held together with plastic rivets. They often break or get lost. Grab some Instamorph, boil some water, and fix it, in just a few minutes.
Materials
Instamorph + hot water = moldable plastic (Heat gun/hair dryer is optional, but useful.
Melt and Roll
Canning jars work great, but any glass should work, as long as it can handle the boiling water. Being careful not to burn yourself, roll the hot Instamorph into a snake that fits through the holes.
Smush. Remold, If Necessary
While it's still hot, (reheat, if necessary) put the Instamorph through the grommet and hole in the chair, and smush. Make sure the Instamorph is flared, at the top and bottom, to secure the two parts together. You can always add and remove material, as you need.
Allow to Cool, Chill Out
Remember, the Instamorph needs to stay below 140°F/60°C, so a hot car, or direct sunlight on a really hot day might soften it up, again. Look, before you sit!
Thanks, and stay safe. =]
